AKC Eukanuba National Championship

Patsi Ann Ward-Davey and her husband Ron made the trip to the AKC/Eukanuba National and it  was a spectacular success for them.

Not only was their life size foundry bronze sculpture of the Crufts 2005 winner Am & Eng Ch  Cracknor Cause Celebre (or Co-co as she is known) the talk of the show, at the pre show gala on the gulf dinner and Auction held in aid of the AKC Canine Health Foundation the two sculptures that we had taken and donated  i.e. our cropped boxer head study also our Dachsi Trio piece, raised the phenomenal amount of $10350.00. for the foundation.


A very excited looking 'Costello', Sandra D'Andrea, W Corr and M and P Peel's Alaskan Malamute Ch Nanuke's Snoklassic No Boundaries, who swept the board with Best BBE in show, Working Group, Best BBE in Working Group, BOB and Best Bred by Exhibitor! Not content with this, Costello caught the eye of BIS judge Mrs Robert S Forsyth and was crowned BIS.

Toy Group was judged by Mrs Jane G Kay and she awarded the prize to the Papillon, Ch Involu Seeing is Believing owned by M and D Garofalo, E Griffin and D and S Newcomb. 'Oliver' is three-and-half years old and came from League City to take part.

The Sporting Group was judged by Robert J Moore and was awarded to James, a five-and-a-half year old ESS. Ch Felicity's Diamond Jim is owned by Patton, Dehmel and Hadsall

AKC Chairman of the Board, the well known Ron Menaker, casts an eye over the proceedings.

Non Sporting Group winner went to the beautiful Lhasa Apso, Ch Ta Sen Victory Peyote, or Pete as he is known at home! Owned by Susan Giles from Virginia, Pete was judged BOB by Mrs Sandra Goose Allen.

Hound Group 1 was judged by Mrs Joan Goldstein and went to the WH Dacshund, Ch Scoshire Famous Amos, known as Amos to his freinds! He was bred by Early and Borders and is owned by Early, Borders and Schoning.

The coveted Breeders of the Year award went to Peggy and Dave Helming

Herding group winner was the OES, D and M A Johnson's Ch Bugaboo's Big Resolution. 'Smokin' is aged almost 3 years and was bred by Johnson and Callahan. The breed judge was Charles L Olvis and the Herding group judge Ms Partricia W Laurans

Terrier Group 1 was awarded to 'Rufus', otherwise known as Ch Rocky Tops Sundance Kid, owned by the partnership of Bishop, Shepherd, Poole and Cherry. Rufus travelled from New Jersey to win Best of Variety under Mrs Cate Elizabeth Cartledge (UK), and Terrier Group judge Kenneth McDermott.
